Good morning boys
Two games under our belts, what a great come (on the) back. Few things before our game on Tuesday @18h30 vs Ikeys B.
1. We still holding on too long at the back, and sometimes getting caught in possession.
2. Milky will be in charge of calling out shorty defence. We spoke about two or three different ways of running out. Vis since you were umpiring we will explain what Milky wants going on.
3. I think we should start off the game with the deep press we using last night. I think it worked well
20 January 2011
Venue: Wynberg Military Base
Opponents: UCT A
Completely different game to Mondays game.
First of all, we won the toss….that makes my tossing skills 100% this season. Sorry Vis but you are on 0%. Next time il give you some pointers.
Secondly two very early goals from shorties, one going left and the other to the right, put us on the back foot straight away. Which means we were behind……lol
After we settled down, things began to gel.
Our first shorty of the match was converted with 6-pack finishing a superb slip from Tosser.
I don’t think UCT liked this much and came back at us hard, scoring 2 goals in open play. One was quite a magical finish looping over Milky. The other came from a substitution mix up leaving a 3 on one situation.
Just before the half time whistle went UCT put in their 5th goal with a deflection on the far post.
I think half time couldn’t come any sooner. I already had the deep heat out and was rubbing my back thinking it was gona be one of those games where we all end up spooning in the shower crying….
The first half started and due to bad marking and communication a player was left open on top D when UCT had a free hit on our right. Not a good start to the 2nd half.
After receiving a ball that could only be described as average at best from Vis, Tosser got the ball under control at the top of the D and nutty’d the keeper. At the time this looked to be a consolation goal. Either way we saw celebrations like we won the world cup. This boosted the confidence of the players and all of a sudden there was a slight glimmer of hope. After a few good chances Vis sent another sketchy ball across to 6-pack who then laid a ball on the post for Pablo Hernandez to deflect in. There’s a goal on a platter for you. Im sure Pablo will try make it sound awesome and say it was a perfectly timed run getting away from his marker and at pace…..but he is lying
All of a sudden we were back in the game and coming up from behind…oh yes I just did that.
Controversy strikes!
Sixes you sly devil, admittedly I think all of us would have done the same, took a quick sort corner which again was finished brilliantly. Whizzing past the keepers head, no chance!
After a few tangles with the UCT boys, showing them that our stick work might not be fantastic but we can sure drop a shoulder unsettling them a bit. Also marking tightly and offering them no way thru frustrated the UCT drama students.
Then TEAM VIS joined the party. What a fantastic solo finish, making the keeper look like a tool again with the second nutty of the game. We then pressed UCT in the final minutes of the game till the final whistle blew. But the score stayed as is.
Brilliant second half performance with us scoring 4 and conceding 1.
Final Score Mutual 5 – 6 UCT A
Next Game:
Tuesday 25th @ 18h30 vs IKEYS B
Please confirm availability, for those who don’t reply to this mail, a txt will be sent to you.
Guys lets keep up our intensity in the next games and don’t think because we did well against UCT A that the B side will be a walk over. I would really like to crush these guys as well as WPCC and Central, probly Conberg as well….
Yours in awesomeness
Tosser
