Good morning guys
Date: 26 July 2012
Time: 20h30
Venue: Mutual
Opponents: Milnerton
Expecting another thrilling physical encounter The unbeaten
Mutual ‘thorough bred’ 3s stepped onto the park for the first time in a month
hoping to continue their winning ways from the first half of the season.
Things definitely did not go our way in the opening
15minutes with our defence chasing the ball. But after defending as a solid
unit we clinched a breakaway goal with Blake beating the last defender and
pushing the ball towards goal. Only to be robbed on the line by Brown who
cracked it into the backboard. Mutual 1 – 0 Milnerton.
Mutual continued to defend with Milnerton overlapping us
and coming quite close on a few occasions. If it were not for the heroics of
Sherman we would have definitely been a few goals down. One of his saves were
absolutely brilliant, saving a definite goal. Moving across his goal and
spreading himself to block the shot of the Millies striker who was open in
acres of space.
With both sides having a fair amount of chances we were
happy to see the signal for half time and a well-deserved rest.
The second half we noticed that the Millies boys were
rattled, they started having a go at each other and we decided just to push
their buttons a bit so that they would break. And that eventually happened. I
stand corrected but two Millies players were sent off in that half meaning they
played with one player short for at least 10minutes giving us a huge advantage.
Rob the Pom for arguing with Vis and their amazing #84 for sticking his foot
out as I coasted around him (He wasn’t ‘5’ either)
Not wanting Milies to finish all the pudding, Mick
thought it was time to opening up his dessert account at the club and order up
a fair bit of custard himself. I think he has since realised that shouting at a
ref is not a good idea. But we handled the pressure of being a man down a lot
better than Millies did.
Ball came in from a long corner, the guys made a few
short passes out towards the 25m and then I looped round back to the top of the
D, Pete then broke at 45 towards the left picked it up at pace, beat a player,
drew another and finished back stick. I could hear Pete shouting “Leave
it!!!LEAVE IT” as he looked up and saw Demon and Spud poaching on the post.
Mutual 2 – 0 Milnerton.
It was round about this time that #84 decided to run his
mouth a bit. “Seriously someone take that whistle away from the umpire” – I saw
my opportunity ‘Yeah you take his whistle and give him your stick cause you
might have a chance at scoring a goal then’
As you might imagine he was not too impressed. He then
decided to throw the usual ‘mom’ chirps my way to which ‘Why don’t we leave
moms out of this and I will leave this out of your mom #PointsToCrotch’ was
thrown back at him – He just wasn’t winning.
Caveman then started shouting at Speedbump to drop, which
we all thought was quite amusing since he wasn’t even in our side….ever. We
then realised that he was in fact talking to Mick. With the game winding down
Brown found himself in space and with a crafty stop and lob over the keeper who
was eating astro saw Mutual extend their lead to Mutual 3 – 0 Milnerton.
Final Score Mutual 3 – 0 Milnerton.
Game Sat vs Durbanville – seems like it will be another
“park the bus” effort from them.
But yes more importantly....still unbeaten
Yours in awesomeness
Tosser
