Indoor Game Week #3 - Fishhoek (1's)

II have realised that if i don't get these match reports out on time that my spot in the 1's in in question, i apologise for the late match report. Hopefully i will be able to write about Sundays game as well. lol

Well that was not a good performance by the men in green and blue. Oh well pick ourselves up and hopefully Sundays game will not be too painful.
1.       Man to man marking.
2.       Dribbling out of the back and giving away possession.
3.       Listening at what is said during half time.

02 February 2012
Venue: Sunningdale
Opponents: Fishhoek

On the way to yesterday’s match, since it was Pablo’s turn to drive, we hopped in the car and headed off. I still don’t know how an immigrant can get a valid SA drivers licence, but that’s not the point. By the time we got to Sunningdale I couldn’t hear a thing because of how loud he likes to play his drum&bass. (Psyche up music) – he probably didn’t listen to this music before a match for the two games against UCT. Maybe that’s why he missed…But we not going to help him with excuses either.

I’m wondering if our defence have the same car systems as Pablo does because there was absolutely no communication in the game. Wait I’m spoiling the match report, I’ll get back to that. Firstly let me say that the selector(s) let the squad down this week by putting all his faith in a player that gets easily injured. Piles suffered from a UWI (unidentified wanking injury) the night before this important match. We had to really scrape the barrel and at the bottom we found a not so promising Bondi Clark. I immediately regret my decision.

As always Vis did not win the toss, Fishhoek simply lost it. I have no idea what happened, but a minute in and a defensive blunder later say FH zig-zag our defence and slip in an easy first goal. Milky not standing a chance with a 2 v 1. (refer to comment about no communication) MCPUT 0 – 1 Fishhoek.

We slowly found our rhythm in the match and suddenly with our first attack of the game, Tosser picking up a dodgy thru ball from Vis and with a snap shot nuttied the keeper. Thus bringing to an end the goal drought this season. Accepting my position into the goal scorers hall of fame and now joint 2nd for most goals this season. MCPUT 1 – 1 Fishhoek.

Bollie then made what has now been nominated as block of the season on top D. Poor Suffix had no chance, the ball went past both of them to the FH strikers again. 2 v 1 again. (refer to comment about no communication) MCPUT 1 – 2 Fishhoek.
After that things were a shambles. Team Denn running around boogies after a zig-zag with the striker Bollie was marking, picking it up behind Boogies and burying it into the bottom corner. (refer to comment about no communication) MCPUT 1 – 3 Fishhoek.

Fishhoeks fourth goal came courtesy of a Suffix assist. Trying the diagonal ball we have talked about not using. Intercepted by the FH middle man and creating a 3 on 2 for the guy on the post to deflect it in. MCPUT 1 – 4 Fishhoek.

Trying to salvage something from the half. Tosser makes a run down the left hand side of the field, breaking into the circle and smashes a square pass to Vis. This would have been a platter had Vis run faster, but he decided to make it harder for himself by dawdling and missing the platter. Doing well to run sideways and fetch the ball off the boards, he then bobbled it over the line from a tight angle. MCPUT 2 – 4 Fishhoek.

FH on the attack, Milky getting a good glove on the ball and taking most of the pace off the shot. With Bollie on base line looking like a dear in head lights, Team Vis managed to make a yard or 6 and hack the shit out of the FH striker taking the follow up shot. The ball ended in the back of the net. But some how (probably with a stern look from Vis) the umpire awarded a 16.
Just before the half time whistle we get a short corner, which later we thought we should have deserved a p-flick. Lucky we didn’t as we don’t want to embarrass Bob anymore. #toosoon? Vis then must have given Suffix the same chat he gave me because they ended up tackling each other on top D.

Vis as always was inspirational at half time, bringing three players to tears. (A new mutual record) We then took the field after half time. Hoping to try turn things around. But things were looking bleak again in the first few moments of the game. A couple intercepted passes a FH forced a short corner. This was well saved off the line by Bollie and smashed clear by Vis. The next short corner we weren’t so lucky, FH getting another goal and stretching their lead to MCPUT 2 – 5 Fishhoek.

It was then our chance to get our first shorty of the second half. Bob finally scoring a short corner. (Also now joint 2nd top goal scorer) FH probably saw Bob about to flick it and no one ran out. All of them stayed in the goals because normally this would be the safest place on the field when Bob has the ball. Not this time, The Mexican surprising all of us by scoring in the top right. On a side note, it was said to him that this keeper is good in the air and that he should go low. Shows how much he listens. With his p-flicks we said he must score and look what happened there as well. I think it was more the push out than Bob’s flick. Welcome back to the shorty team Hulk. MCPUT 3 – 5 Fishhoek.

Aaaah, going back to Dorathys twin, Mr. Consistent. Giving us a p-flick for the same infringement that we got a shorty for in the first half. In his defence Milky came charging out of the box with so much fury, smashing into the poor FH striker and almost biting off a chunk of his arm in the process. Milky then redeemed himself by saving the p-flick he gave away. #WellWorthIt
Vis then in a rage tried his own highlander tackle and somehow getting away with it. Sven too scared to blow against Vis. Probably trying to right the wrong of Mr. Consistent  made by giving FH a p-flick. Vis with a clinical finish in the bottom left passed the beacon they call a goal keeper. Vis keeping alive the Tri-fectors goal scoring ratio. Vis and Tosser both with 100% strike rates for this game. MCPUT 4 – 5 Fishhoek

FH then went on a one man scribbling spree, with Wagga spinning Boogies in circles that he thought he had a 3 on 1. MCPUT 4 – 6 Fishhoek.
And with the game drawing to a close, Mutual pressing high trying to get a goal or two back were caught on the counter. FH having an easy tap in on the far post with the defence out numbered. MCPUT 4 – 7 Fishhoek.

Final Score Mutual 4 - 7 Fishhoek
Next Game:
Sunday 5th @ 19h30 vs WPCC B

Not the best result, but we have to bounce back. WPCC B game is probably going to be the toughest game this season for those of you who saw how they took apart Pinelands last night.

Yours in awesomeness
Tosser
