Indoor Game Week #3 - vs Pinelands Dodos (Mens 3s)

Opponents: Pinelands Dodos

I've played the Dodos on numerous occasions and there is no love lost between Mutual and the Dodos. Like the bird they are named after, extinction would be a good end to this team. Dodos are not the cleverest bunch of players when it comes to knowing the rules of indoor and their umpire (if you can call him that even less so). - (Tosser - I see Dorathy got allocated some M4 games)

Having lost the previous week we came out guns blazing with to new youngsters on the field nick up front and Gareth at the back. We got off to a great start with Dave showing a great improvement to net our 1st goal down the beating two players before coming inside and showing the keeper he was nowhere. A couple of shorties latter Dorothy netted his effort low on the ground past the keepers left, before he even saw the ball. Soon after that we got a 3rd with dodos finally getting of the mark, ending the half  Mutual 3 - 1 Dodo's. (Tosser - I'm confused? I thought Dorathy was umpiring? How did he score? I suppose anything is possible when he has the whistle)

Happy with the start we joked a little at half time and said, just keep going. What we didn't recon on was their umpire now being in our half. Quickly it become apparent that anything inside our D was a shorty for them, however we managed to stop most of their efforts but they did manage to get a goal. Mutual 3 - 2 Dodo's. 

Soon after that nick’s finished of a back pass to go Mutual 4 - 2 Dodo's. Then came a shocker dodos have the ball outside the D, center field and attempting to pass to their own player the ball hits Gareth’s foot bounces into the air straight towards our goals, OT steps forward towards the bouncing ball to ensure it goes no further and saw he extends his foot to stop the ball, an attacker jabs in to get a touch of the ball at the apex of its bounce clearing Oaties foot it goes into the goals and gets awarded. I attempt to appeal to the umpire about his bad call, however he looks at me says it was advantage and goal stands. This rattled the side enough to give another shorty away and allow dodos to equalize just before the game ended.

3rds needs to settle down with too many team changes not allowing the team to settle down, with OT needing to learn to log, with a few games to go we will definitely push for the next round and show that we can win this league.
