Winter League Game Week #1 - vs UCT B (Mens 2s)

The first league game of the season had finally arrived. This was a team we should be looking to beat, however in a few minutes we found ourselves a goal down. We tried to rally as a side but we couldn’t find much momentum and the chances we had we didn’t take with the worst probably being the platter Vis missed from top D, no wonder he isn’t playing 1s anymore. (Tosser - Deny better watch what he says because my bench is full....or is he trying to make a grass side?) Our defence was in shambles to say the best and UCT added a couple more for the game to end 3 – 0 to UCT at half time. 

The start of the second half was better from our side but yet again we slipped in defence and UCT added a 4th goal to their tally. At this stage we decided to actually play some hockey and we won a shorty and the Raff slotted his drag. Another well worked move saw Basil first time slap his shot into the goals. With UCT losing some ground in the game their ginger decided he needed to vent some frustration on Benji, after Benji had stolen the ball from him like only a black man can the ginger followed through with his hit and smashed Benji on the knee. The ginger saw custard and had a walk to the side of the field (dunno why they let gingers in public in the first place though). 

We used our advantage well and started to play some good hockey and we won another shorty. Where UCT had two players sent to the halfway line for breaking early. Vis eventually managed to scored a scrappy goal to make it 4 – 3. We now pushed hard to find a result but we just couldn’t find another goal. We showed some good heart but we really need to switch on from the word go in order to pick up some results. A special thanks to Tosser for running our bench, I ensured a junior thanked him appropriately. (Tosser - Next time give me someone that swallows...The Raff has some nice lips on him thou)
