New Arrivals #1 - Ladies

Full name: Catherine Lowings                     Nickname: Cat, Boomerang
Date of birth: 25-05-1988                            Previous club: Durbanville (...shame, please don't make fun of her)
Playing position: Forward                           Current team: Ladies 3’s

Originally from Hermanus and after the Ladies 3's lost all there games to Durbanville last year, Cat decided to join Mutual to try help out with a couple goals... Actually, Cat is a teachers aid in Pinelands. Mutual is closer to home for Cat so the move just made sense. She turned down Pinelands Hockey Club to join Mutual...the best decision of her life!!! (our bar is much nicer) We have welcomed her with open arms. Last season, her goals helped Durbanville gain promotion and we have already seen what she is capable of, scoring in her first game for Mutual and putting in a great performance on the field. We hope that she will be able to repeat her performance from game week 1 and help Mutual get a spot in L4. Her hunger for goals is sure to boost any teams attack.

Full name: India Louw                            Nickname: Monster
Date of birth: 20-08-1997                       Previous club: Fresh out of Highschool (EHS)
Playing position: Half/Link                     Current team: Ladies 3's

Monster hails from Pinelands and is another of the Ladies 3's school-goers getting an early start at club hockey. Her nickname was earned because of her love for that petrol green coloured enegry 'drink' named Monster, much to the horror of Tatty (if you sponsor the team, she may just change her name to Redster...no?). You may ask how did her parents come about with her real name 'India'? I am sure it has something to do with her being conceived in that country (do not quote this, facts to be verified).

Monster, like Mucher, has a great tackling ability making life difficult for anyone else who tries to get past her. The Ladies 2nd side found out the hard way. New to Mutual, she sealed her place in the club with a perfect action shot taken during the KCM Easter Hockey Tournament with an 'alleged' dirty tackle...Tosser, I know you are proud of this. (Tosser – Indeed I am….she must have been at my coaching clinic over the holidays) Monster is a keen player who is willing to progress her game in any areas, making her easy to coach #TellBasil. She is in charge of the short corner injection and if she could, would run to the castle to take the shot. Another one for the future, we hope to keep her for as long as possible at Mutual as she is sure to grow into a great player. Another Sonic recruit!

Full name: Miche Bennet                    Nickname: Muncher
Date of birth: 23-04-1997                     Previous club: Fresh from high School
Playing position: Half                          Current team: Ladies 3's

One for the future, Muncher quickly earned her nickname at the very first practice of the season during the mini game. The rest of the Ladies didn't want the ball in fear of what can only be called 200% commitment in tackling. It is not always clean, but this is why Mutual is the perfect club for this young lady. Muncher is a naturally gifted sportswoman representing her Province in two sports. She has recently been chosen to represent WP hockey in the under 16 age group, adding to her achievements in representing WP for cricket. Currently, she is part of the best Ladies 3's defence Mutual has seen for a long while. At almost 15, we hope that she sticks around at Mutual and grows with our Club. Well done to Sonic on this great recruitment!

Full name: Leanne Michelle Adair                               Nickname: Yes
Date of birth: 12/04/1989                                            Previous club: Old Vicks (Eastern Cape)
Playing position: Half & Link                                      Current team: Ladies 2’s

How do you start describing a newbee that got the nickname “Yes” on her first visit to club and one that’s playing hockey to socialize (big scared eyes). Hailing us with her presence from the Eastern Cape, this colgate smiler has been affiliated to some crazies in the club already (no one told her that was a bad idea, shame). Up for a challenge, Yes has not yet grasped the concept of the game of life and so has graced us with pumped up arms! She also plays hockey which is a good thing and has that wild twinkle in the eye that gave lead her to her nickname when she couldn’t answer a question correctly (Tosser’s beaming smile :D).

She doesn’t seem to scare easily being adopted by the terrible two of Bubbles and Tatty, so we’re hoping she grows old with us. Always an asset (Tosser - or assets…..) having someone named ‘Yes’ especially in a hockey game where that’s the term many use for the ball (as opposed to the greatly hated “HA”). In terms of her hockey skills, does one really need to know that of a new player, she plays center link… enough said. She’s also a paramedic in training, a handy one this one in more than one way! (Tosser – well I know CPR. #TrueStory) Welcome Yes, we’re lucky to have you!

Thanks Piles and Bubbles for the mini-profiles.
Unfortunately I was unable to upload the other pictures I received of Yes due to some graphic content. But don't worry they are safely in the archives....hubba hubba!!

Yours in awesomeness
Tosser
