Winter League Game Week #3 - vs Bellville A (Ladies 3s)

Date: 6 May
Venue: Mutual
Time: 13:30
Opponent: Bellville B

The second of two matches on the same weekend, the Ladies were looking forward to putting yesterdays draw behind us. We were not sure what to expect as Bellville B had conceded there opening two games, giving a bonus point win to two other teams. We wanted to win this one with a bonus point to stay on track with the seasons objectives.

In a complete contrast of Conberg's team, Bellville B's average age must have been "I'm telling mom!!!!". Yes, that young...
We learnt from yesterday that we should not judge any teams based on the make-up of the players. So the brief was to play hard, be ruthless, even if it meant running over your nieces little friend.

The game started with a Bellville push off, and then the Mutual domination/destruction/obliteration started.
I told Tosser I would keep this match report brief. If I was to describe each goal, we could probably approach MNet and pitch this as a Mini-Series because we know how much they care.

Half time score Mutual 8 - 0 Bellville Tots (#tell them).
Full time score Mutual 12 - 0 Bellville Nappies (#tell them).

Somewhere in between all that the following happened:
- Our short corners were great but still some work to be done
- Tiny was happy not to do anything as she had a chest infection
- Shooter was worried that we may smash Mutuals scoring record from last year against Langa at 22 - 0
- No Bellville player broke any bones this year
- Every Bellville supporter was gathered behind the Bellviile goal box so they could actually see there child touch the ball

Final Score: Mutual 3's 12 - 0 Bellville B.

Goal Scorers:
- 4 x Boomerang
- 2 x PG
- 2 x Pikkie
- 2 x Jambo
- 1 x Scrat
- 1 x Zoom

Talking points:
 - maybe we should pull the keeper off an put an extra outfield player on the field? If the Japs can do it, why shouldn't we...
 - winning big after an average draw does wonders for the rest of the day

There's nothing a coach can really comment on when his side claps there opponent for a dozen. After the weekend, ladies 3's took 7 points from a possible 10. Although we never expected to get a bonus point win against Conberg A, so its really 7 from 9. And a healthy competition has developed between us and Tosser's men's 3rd side to see who will be the best Mutual side based on WPHU stats (and we have taken the lead).

(Tosser - I watched this massacre. The ladies 3's were ruthless taking no prisioners. But it looks like Shooter will hold onto his record of 22-0 for a little while longer. but after watching this performance it is definitely in jeopardy. Also Bellville seem to have a few Highlanders in the making. A couple of swinging battle axe of a tackle could be heard from the stands, nevermind seen. Well everyone saw except for the umpire. Thanks F Goose wasn't allowed to umpire this game.)
