Opponents: UCT A
Venue: Mutual
Time: 13h30
Date: 05 May 2012
Key points:
Try to keep up with UCT who are part of
the elite teams and who move on and off the ball extremely well.
Creating offensive short corners, we seem
to be able to create defensive short corners with ease (Could become a point
each week at this rate)
Discipline has been excellent, but had a
few greens creep in the week before.
Bondi was nursing a pulled thigh muscle
and decided not to man up, giving this game a miss #thanksfornothingcaptain
So game 3 in 6 days and was the best team
to end with.
UCT ran us into a complete stuper and we
didn’t know our ass from our elbow.
They were devastating in all aspects of
the park and all we could do was damage control.
Unfortunately they scored often throughout
the 1st half, with a combination of field and short corner goals.
HT 0 – 4
Second half we would improve but still
found ourselves with little time on the ball and doing lots of shadow chasing.
It could be that we were missing Bondi in
the middle, but I doubt it.
Second half UCT could only muster one
field goal after Giger single handedly keeper the bullets out, earning himself
a much deserved man of the match!
We were all looking forward to the final
whistle!
FT 0 – 5
A lesson in hockey, but still we show promise
going into next games, sitting 7th on the log.
Next match a must win vs Conberg and Bergvliet High School , Saturday 6pm.
