Winter League Game Week #4 - vs Milnerton (Mens 5s - Vikings)

Gnashing teeth at the opportunity this match presented itself... Vikings found themselves up against the only indoor side to beat them this past season. It was a close indoor game with Vikings loosing by just a single goal, a lucky goal... but hey Vikings still won the league... #tellthem

With the sun having set and chilling night settling in.... but at the Green and Blue Buffalo city (Mutual Astro) things were begging to heat up.... With Vikings chainsaws oiled and Millies hair already on fire (gingers... #tellthem), the game started off with Vikings attacking straight away. a bit scrappy going, with the ball all over the place until Mullet makes a pass to Speedbump who passes back to Mullet, Mullet takes it into the D and bang... the ball goes into the goals.

Mutual 1 - Millies 0

Straight from the start Millies came back at Vikings, making a break threw or two but they couldn't finish, until the Vikings stole the the ball back with good movement of the ball between players, Vikings went on the offensive. Getting into the D, Viking got a shot on goals, but saved by the keeper straight back to Gareth who puts it away in the bottom corner.

Mutual 2 - Millies 0

This did nothing good for Millies temperament, with their faces starting to match their roy-kops.... they manged to attack us, well tried to. was more like gnats flying into a light,but it wasn't long  before Vikings were attacking again and got a long corner. Vikings made a back pass, which popped over the waiting links stick and was picked up by a Millies lonesome forward, as Puppy missed timed his run...and some how the Millies player rounds him and looses the ball of his stick, which eludes the advancing Stompie, which gives him enough time to gather the little wits he has and guide the ball into the back of the box...

Now it was Vikings turn to frown apon the previous play, but Vikings lift their heads and push on, 10 minutes of pushing and pushing after that lucky goal by the Millies forward. Speedo gets the ball and slowly takes it over the half way line and smashes it straight threw everyone and finding Randy's flat stick again, the ball deflects straight into the nets, amazing goal.. even Millies bench were clapping hands.

But that was all the fizzle and pop the game had to offer... a dull second half ensued. With plenty of chances for Vikings but none being converted. The cold night seemingly taking all the heat out of the match. A clean sheet for both teams... Accept for some chirping from either team, resulting in Dazz and Millies player both got a warning for chirpping, just a little chat how the other team was playing nothing special. #FriendlyGame #TellThem

And that's how it ended, a disappointing end to a game with a promising start.
